Food Review: Shelter in the Woods - Homey and Rustic French Restaurant

It's been quite a while since I've eaten French food, and Shelter in the Woods is just the right place to provide us straightforward no frills French food. Although there was a bit modern twist here and there, the rustic and earthy elements still dominate the whole concept of the menu.

"Pâté en Croûte"

Baked in its crust, veal, pork, foie gras, mushroom, pistachio, mesclun

Per slice S$18

Shelter Quiche
With Forest Mushrooms, Cheese, Onions, and Fresh Herbs
S$14.50

Chicken Broth
with house-made Foie Gras, Mushrooms, and Chicken Ravioli
S$12.50

Lyonnaise Salad
Frisee Salad, Soft-boiled Egg, Dutch Smoked Bacon, Croutons, and Sherry-vinaigrette
S$12

Rotisserie Suckling Pig
Roasted Suckling Pig, Rotisserie Pineapple, Onion Confit, and Gravy
S$35

Seafood Casserole
Seasonal Fish & Seafood served in light Seafood Broth with Herbal Croutons
S$39

The Suckling Pig's was cripsy and the meat was tender and juicy, but I still can't move on from BAM! version of suckling pig.

And my favorite is the Seafood Casserole, as I've always been a fan of seafood broth <3 it was savory yet light enough for my liking. I love the ambience and the overall experience, if you ever want to go on a date, I would say you can't go wrong with this place.
