Adrift by David Myers - Marina Bay Sands

David Myers, who is a Los Angeles-based Celebrity chef, just join the other famous celebrity chefs who opened their restaurants at Marina Bay Sands. The restaurant named Adrift by David Myers, is inspired by the chef's travel experiences. The dishes here are presented well, with a little bit of twist here and there, and the price still makes sense.
We had Rice Cracker, Green Onion Salt, Yuzu Kosho Aioli (S$5) as our first appetizer. It's crunchy and light, not too greasy, goes well together with the aioli. Perhaps they want to do something like salty-sweet pairing, but the caramelized popcorn just doesn't make much sense to me.

Wanting something refreshing and flavorful, we decided to order Young Kale, Hazelnut, Maitakes, Truffle Pecorino, Vinaigrette (S$19). The salad was delicious, the crunchy and fresh kales blend together nicely with the pecorino. The whole thing has a little bit of saltiness, sourness, and nuttiness, which is nice to be eaten at the same time.

The Buckwheat Fried Chicken, Honey Mustard Sauce (S$18), got us curious and we decided to try it. Unfortunately, there's nothing special with this dish, still, it's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, taste great with honey mustard. AND I managed to eat CHICKEN COMB for the first time in my life. It wasn't too bad, the texture is chewy, but I won't be eating it again.

This is one of the most famous dish in Adrift, it is well recommended by the waiter there, and he said many people love it. The Crispy Baby Potatoes, Seaweed, Parmesan (S$14) kind of remind me of Pizzeria Mozza's Fried Potatoes with Sage and Rosemary. It tastes awesome! They actually boil/steam the potatoes first and then they kind of crush the potatoes a little bit, so the inside can peek out, and then they fry it! It really does create unique textures!

I have always been a fan of beef tartare. And this one is really something that I could go back for. The Beef Tartare, Sesame, Egg Yolk, and Chili (S$26) was really really good and the combination of smooth egg yolks with beef tartare, along with the crunchy bread was out of this world. It was the highlight of the day! I love love it <3

While the picture makes the bowl looks small, it is not. The portion of this bowl of Grilled Rice, Tamari, Eggplant, Mushroom, Egg (S$21) was quite big, enough to share for two. I think the whole plate looks fascinating, it has a little bit of smokey flavor, and the eggplants kind of look like chasiu (roast pork) drowned in sauce.

Seems like bahn mi has become more popular these days, and Chef David makes sure he does not miss it in his menu. This Little Bahn Mi with Beef Brisket Au Jus (S$26) was nothing phenomenal, the bread was nice, but sorry, Adrift, I still prefer the one in Nam Nam.

OH, this one. It's Caramel French Toast, Coconut Sorbet, with Kopi Syrup (S$14), it's crunchy yet soft, hot yet cold, and it's exciting! The dessert was fun and totally guilty pleasure!

In my opinion, the restaurant concept is not something new, it has Asian element infused all over the menu, but if you want to eat something nice at somewhere nice without breaking the bank, I say this is a place to go.
